Welcome to the official Trezór® startup guide. This tutorial walks you through setting up your hardware wallet from start to finish. Whether you're using the Trezór® Model One or Model T, this guide ensures a secure and reliable start to managing your crypto assets.
1. Unboxing and Inspecting Your Trezór®
Begin by carefully unboxing your device. Check that the packaging is sealed and untampered. Inside the box, you should find:
Your Trezór® hardware wallet
USB cable (USB-C or micro-USB depending on the model)
Recovery seed cards (blank)
Instructional manual and stickers
Do not proceed if you suspect your device has been opened or altered in any way.
2. Connecting Your Device
Connect your Trezór® to a computer using the included USB cable. The device screen will power on, prompting you to start the setup process.
Connect the device using the USB cable
Launch the Trezór® software interface on your computer
Follow the on-screen prompts to continue
3. Installing Firmware
New Trezór® devices ship without firmware to ensure maximum security. When prompted:
Select "Install Firmware"
Wait for the process to complete
The device will restart automatically once the installation is done
⚠️ Important: Do not disconnect your device during firmware installation.
4. Creating a New Wallet
Once firmware is installed, you'll be asked to create a new wallet:
Select "Create New Wallet"
The device will generate a 12 or 24-word recovery seed
Write down each word in order on the recovery seed card
Confirm the seed by verifying selected words
🔐 Security Tip: Never take photos or digital copies of your seed. Store it offline in a secure place.
5. Setting Up a PIN
After the recovery phrase is set, you’ll be prompted to create a PIN. This adds another layer of protection to your wallet.
Choose a 4 to 9-digit PIN using the randomized keypad shown on your device
Confirm your PIN
You’ll now use this PIN each time you connect your device
6. Adding Crypto Accounts
